Product description
The 7" Mad Wag from Keitech is a twister-style lure designed specifically for targeting predatory fish such as pike and zander. This soft plastic lure combines the characteristics of a soft plastic worm with the enticing action of a twister tail, which generates powerful pressure waves even when retrieved at the slowest speed. Thanks to the salted material infused with squid flavor, fish strike decisively and hold the lure in their mouths longer. A special recess on the back, the Point Guard System (PGS), allows the hook point to be completely concealed, enabling extremely weed-free fishing.
Advantages
-
Powerful action
The robust twister tail generates strong vibrations and a side-to-side swimming action even with minimal retrieve.
-
WeedlessĀ
Thanks to the clever Point Guard System (PGS), the hook point is hidden in the back of the lure. This allows you to present the Mad Wag even in heavily weeded or log-filled areas.
-
Aromatic rubber compound
The special rubber compound is enriched with salt and an intense squid aroma. This added attraction ensures more bites and gives you that crucial extra second during the fight to set the hook.
Luretechnique
-
On a Jighead
In open water or in areas with few snags, the Mad Wag is a sure bet even on a jig head. You can jig it classically, let it drift, or simply retrieve it steadilyāthe fish will find it!
-
On a Carolina Rig
With the Carolina rig, you can search large areas of water and present the bait close to the bottom. Ideal for finding zander along edges or on large plateaus.
Ā -
On a Wide Gap Hook
Rigged on a Wide Gap hook and simply reeled in slowly and monotonously, the Mad Wag unleashes its full catching power and runs extremely weed-free thanks to the PGS. Tip: A spinner blade on the Wide Gap hook draws even more attention to the lure.
FAQ
-
How exactly does the Point Guard System (PGS) work?
You rig the bait onto a Widegap hook as usual. However, you donāt push the hook point all the way through the back; instead, you leave it resting in the designated notch on the back of the bait. This way, the point is perfectly protected from weeds and obstacles, but slides out immediately upon a bite and grips securely in the fishās mouth.

Which color should I choose for which body of water?
A simple rule helps you make your choice: In clear water and sunny conditions, natural patterns like Green Pumpkin or Watermelon PP are often unbeatable. In murky water or under overcast skies, you should opt for more eye-catching colors like Motoroil PP. Red or high-contrast patterns like Black to increase visibility.

Can you also fish with the Mad Wag in the ocean?
Yes, absolutely! The Mad Wag is also an excellent choice in saltwater, especially when fishing for cod and pollock. Its large profile and strong pressure waves pique the curiosity of ocean predators. Itās best to use it on a sturdy jig head.
