Product description

The 3.5" Yamatanuki from Yamamoto started the trend towards heavy soft plastics. The bait comes from the Japanese Yamamoto range and is very popular there. It is made of a custom, heavy, heavily salted plastic formula that was developed for fishing without extra weight. This lets you cast it far even weightless, and it still sinks quickly. The Yamatanuki is suited for flipping at cover, for targeted casting on a weightless wide-gap hook and for slowly dragging it along the bottom. It also catches fish on the Neko rig, Free Rig, Carolina rig and drop-shot rig. With a length of 9,2 cm, the 3.5" is a good size for perch, zander and black bass.

Advantages

  • Long casts without extra weight
The heavy plastic formula brings its own casting weight. This lets you reach even distant spots without additional weight.
  • Quickly on the bottom
The bait sinks fast and quickly gets to where the fish are holding.
  • Versatile
Flipping, weightless fishing and dragging along the bottom or classic rigs such as the Neko rig, Free Rig and Carolina rig: one bait for many situations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Do I need extra weight?
No. The Yamatanuki is made for fishing without extra weight, and the heavy plastic formula provides casting distance and fast sinking. For the Free Rig or Carolina rig, combine it with a suitable sinker.

  2. Which hook fits the 3.5" Yamatanuki?
Weightless, on the Free Rig or on the Carolina rig, a wide-gap hook in size 3/0 - 4/0 is a good fit. For the Neko rig and the drop-shot rig, use a single hook in size 1/0 - 2/0.

  3. Which size should I choose?
The 3.5" with a length of 9,2 cm is a good fit for perch, zander and black bass. For smaller perch and cautious fish, the Yamatanuki is also available as a 2.5" with 6,5 cm.
