Product description

With the 2.5" Yamatanuki from Yamamoto, you get the well-known Heavy Soft Plastic bait in the small version. The Yamatanuki comes from Japan, where it is very popular in the Yamamoto range, and started the trend towards soft plastics made of heavy, heavily salted material there. Its custom, heavy plastic formula is made to be fished without extra weight. Despite its 6,5 cm, it casts far and glides quickly to the bottom. You can flip it, cast it precisely to cover or slowly drag it along the bottom. It is also at home on the Neko rig, drop-shot rig, Free Rig and Carolina rig. The compact size is a particularly good match for perch, zander and black bass when the fish are biting cautiously.

Advantages

  • Small but easy to cast
The weight is in the plastic formula.
  • Gets down quickly
It sinks fast, even on a weightless wide-gap hook.
  • Many applications
Flipping, weightless fishing, dragging along the bottom or on various finesse rigs.
  • Plenty of baits
With 10 pieces per pack, you always have enough baits with you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Which hook fits the 2.5" Yamatanuki?
For the Neko rig and the drop-shot rig, a single hook in size 2 - 1 is a good fit. Weightless, on the Free Rig or on the Carolina rig, use a wide-gap hook in size 1 - 1/0.

  2. Why does the Yamatanuki sink so fast?
Yamamoto uses a custom, heavy plastic formula. It gives the bait casting weight and a fast fall, even without any extra weight.

  3. When do I choose the 2.5" instead of the 3.5"?
The 2.5" is the better choice for perch and when fish are biting cautiously. For bigger fish, the Yamatanuki is also available as a 3.5" with 9,2 cm.
